Offshoring in India could never be a good solution! OK, you are able to shrink costs per head, but you will also decrease your internal knowlegde and you will laso have losses in works quality.
Never make an offshore dowse if you are able to keep it inhouse ;)

Thanks for the link, I will read it. At the moment we are using offshore in Banglalore / India and I could tell you that we have a lot of problems. First of alle, you have to transfer the whole knowledge from a to b, that stands for a long time of shadowing phase. The second big problem in India is the job protection. If some one is paying more money, they are leaving the company, e.g. Accenture. Then tehy have to search for a replacement, which already means: once again the knowledge transfer. After signing a contract, you will reach other difficulties, like an assure forecast of pipieline projects, to eliminate demand with their supply...and so on.

we can share some experience by using a liquid kölsch app ;) the problems you mentioned are typically for offshoring projects. if the they are possible in a profitable way depends on the character of the offshoring object and its size. i was surprised to see that also smaller projects and organizations are able to offshore their IT successfully.
